The Petrus Process
Research
Every good design starts with solving the right problem, and detailed research is how you capture how your customer views that problem. We dive into customers’ tendencies, demographics, and attitudes to build the strong foundation for your product’s design.
Industrial Design
With the problem properly defined, our team of designers will help you think through every aspect of your product, from its dimensions and materials, to the ideal manufacturing process for it and how expensive each unit will be. We will brainstorm with you to come up with dozens of concepts and then sketch the most promising concepts to fully understand how your product will look, work, and feel.
3D Modeling
Once we have helped you come up with a great product design via sketching, we'll convert those sketches into digital, three-dimensional models in the computer. From those models, we can determine multi-part assembly movements and tolerances, specific part volumes and weights, and precise dimensions of critical components.
Prototyping
Here’s where it gets real. Prototyping is the process of creating a physical representation of your product, and it is a game-changer. Being able to hold your product in your hands sparks innovations and realizations that simply aren't possible any other way: how it feels, how smoothly it moves, how intuitive it is to use, how its weight matters or doesn't. Whether we're prototyping out of metal, plastic, or wood, via 3D printing, CNCing, or casting, we’ve got you covered, at a fraction of the cost of the other guys.

This is where we take the insights gained through research and design, pair them with the 3D models we’ve created and perfected through prototyping, and produce high-quality production products that are ready to take the world by storm!
